Jim Corbett Fan Club
Jim Corbett Fan Club (JCFC) is a nature’s club dedicated to the
great man Edward Jim Corbett who was known for his large heartedness and amazing
hunting skills.
"Jim Corbett was a pioneer conservationist and lectured at local schools and societies
to stimulate awareness of the natural beauty surrounding local people and the need
to conserve forests and their wildlife. He helped create the Association for the
Preservation of Game in the United Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh), and the All-India
Conference for the Preservation of Wild Life. He also established India’s first
national park, which was inaugurated in 1934 in the Kumaon Hills. He also had a
deep affection for the people of the Kumaon Hills, and was loved by many in the
region. He is considered by some in the Kumoan region as a sadhu."
Jim Corbett Fan Club will continue in Jim Corbett's footsteps and work towards conservation
of nature and wildlife by way of creating awareness.
JCFC is an initiative of a group of friends who are together in their love for The
Trees and The Tiger. JCFC works with Anushthan
Samiti an NGO active in Kumaon Region and working for the betterment of
the deprived farmers settled in remote villages of the hills in North.
